Students in Kenya can sit the SAT several times a year at approved test centres, including schools in Nairobi. The test is now fully digital, which changes how it feels on the day and how students should prepare. Here is what families need to know about dates, registration and the test itself.
Outside the United States, the SAT is usually offered several times a year, typically in August, October, November, December, March, May and June. Exact dates are published by the College Board each year, and seats at popular Nairobi centres can fill quickly, so it pays to register early.
Registration is done online through the College Board website. Your child creates an account, chooses a test date and centre, uploads a photo and pays the fee. On test day they need valid photo identification, usually a passport for international students, and their admission ticket.
Most SAT stress on the day comes from logistics, not the questions. Register early, check the centre, and know exactly what to bring.
Because the second module adjusts to performance, a strong first module is essential for reaching the highest scores. Students who understand the format, and practise under realistic timed conditions in Bluebook, consistently do better than those who prepare with old paper materials.
The most effective preparation starts with a full diagnostic test to find exactly where points are being lost, then targets those areas with regular timed practice. Try our free Digital SAT Score Calculator to see where your child stands today.
AFEX Hub runs in-person SAT preparation at our Nairobi campus, timed around the main test dates. Book a consultation and we will help your child plan the right sittings and preparation for their target universities.
